In a significant breakthrough, the operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have successfully apprehended two notorious robbery kingpins, Ibrahim Haliru, a former convict hailing from Kano State, and Babangida Mohammed from Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

According to SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, the arrests were made on April 23 in connection with a string of car thefts targeting unsuspecting residents in the FCT and its surrounding areas.

Adeh disclosed that the suspects were apprehended with the assistance of digital reconstruction intelligence in a hotel in Nasarawa while indulging in the luxuries funded by their criminal activities. Among the items recovered from the duo were five stolen vehicles and charms believed to have been used in their nefarious deeds.

"These suspects, who have been on the wanted list of the command for several months, were finally tracked down and arrested," Adeh stated.

Emphasizing the importance of vigilance among residents, CP Benneth C. Igweh, the Commissioner of Police in FCT, reiterated the commitment of the command to safeguarding the lives and properties of FCT residents.

"While urging residents to take all necessary steps in protecting their valuables, the commissioner of police in FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, reaffirms his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of life and property of the residents of FCT," Adeh affirmed.

The successful operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure the safety of communities within the FCT and its environs.
