In a bid to curb criminal activities within Abia State, the Police Command recently paraded several suspects, including Victor Emmanuel, a 500-level student of Abia State University (ABSU), who was involved in the fatal shooting of his fellow student, Emmanuel Uche, last month.

The suspects were presented to the public by the State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, during a press briefing held at the police headquarters in Umuahia on Sunday.

ASP Chinaka highlighted the Command's commitment to combating crime under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, citing the successful arrest of over 100 suspected criminals across the state. She emphasized the Command's determination to sustain its efforts in the fight against criminality.

During the parade, various exhibits recovered from the suspects were showcased, including firearms, charms, tricycles, a toy gun, bags of Indian hemp, and electric wires. Additionally, items such as EFCC jackets, EFCC ID cards, vehicle number plates, railway slippers, and more were displayed.

In a shocking confession, Victor Emmanuel admitted to fatally shooting Emmanuel Uche, his fellow student, over a dispute involving their respective groups. The altercation allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over a mobile phone between the two rival groups.

Addressing concerns about the death of Aba-based businessman, Emmanuel Okocha, allegedly shot by a policeman, Commissioner Kenechukwu Onwuemelie assured the public of a transparent investigation into the incident.

The parade underscores the State Police Command's proactive approach in apprehending criminals and ensuring public safety within Abia State, as it continues to uphold its commitment to maintaining law and order.
