Majekodunmi, aged 90, currently holds the esteemed positions of Aare Ona Kakanfo and Otun Ba’asegun of Egba-land. In a recent conversation, he shared his insights on Obasanjo's leadership:

Reflecting on Obasanjo's tenure alongside figures like Abacha, Majekodunmi acknowledges Obasanjo's military prowess, yet sheds light on the tumultuous relationship between the two leaders. Abacha's decision to incarcerate Obasanjo in Yola Prison stemmed from internal military dynamics, with allegations of favoritism in promotions clouding their interactions.

Regarding Abacha, Majekodunmi is critical, questioning the level of competence that justified his rise to power. Despite extensive foreign training, doubts lingered about Abacha's capabilities, casting shadows on his leadership.

Majekodunmi's admiration for Obasanjo's candidness stands out amidst the political landscape dominated by figures like Abacha and IBB, who harbored disdain for opposition. However, he juxtaposes this with a personal observation of Obasanjo's distant attitude toward his Yoruba heritage, stemming from his complex familial background.

Delving into Obasanjo's ancestry, Majekodunmi recounts a tale of interethnic relations, revealing intriguing ties between Obasanjo and the Igbo community. With roots tracing back to an Igbo lineage, Obasanjo's familial connections often spark curiosity, evidenced by his involvement in Igbo political campaigns.

Despite any lingering animosities, Majekodunmi acknowledges Obasanjo's impartiality toward the Igbo people, citing instances where he actively supported Igbo political endeavors, such as campaigning for Peter Obi in Onitsha.

However, beneath the surface of Obasanjo's public persona lies a tapestry of complexities, including personal relationships and familial heritage. The revelation of his biological father's Igbo lineage adds layers to his identity, offering glimpses into the intricate web of Nigeria's social fabric.

In a society where political narratives often overshadow personal histories, Majekodunmi's recollections offer a rare glimpse into the nuanced reality behind the public façade. Through his reflections, the intricate interplay of power, ethnicity, and personal identity in Nigeria's political landscape comes to light.

I think this is not true and I feel he's gonna come out to debunk it. But fighting against Biafra can't be the reason. Do you know that there were Igbo officers including Generals that fought on the Nigerian side? Ike Nwachukwu is from my village, he fought for Nigeria against Biafra. And Victor Adebukunola Banjo was a Colonel in the Nigerian Army, but he fought for Biafra against Nigeria.

It is an open secret that OBJ's biological father was Igwe Onyejekwe from Anambra. He only adopted the name Obasanjo from his step father who married his mother his mother with him in her womb after Onyejekwu abandoned her with the pregnancy.

This is a blatant attempt to de-market OBJ in Yorubaland, and this must be coming from the APC coven. They see that the man is still strong kampe, and he is not dying anytime soon, so they want to de-market him against 2027 campaign going by the woeful failure of the present administration which will sway a lot of people to whoever he endorses as a very influential personality in that region. Every Igbo person and well meaning Nigerian should tackle this evil now that it is still at the nursery stage. You guys think you are smart, but we are light years ahead.
