You don't have a goal unless you have a fixed time reference in which to reach it. In fact, someone has defined a goal as a dream with a deadline.

If you learn to set priorities and deadlines, you will soon find that a fixed schedule is not a burden but an aid. It helps you to know where you are at all times and what you should do next. It soon becomes natural to live by a routine and a pre-determined plan.

Creativity can work even within the confines of deadlines; in fact, it can work even better that way.

When you set a goal to accomplish a specific amount of work within a specified time period, you set your creative process in motion. Setting a deadline unlocks something within you that will excite and motivate you to be more creative than you ever thought possible.
