The party vowed to drag the Governor and the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) before a court of law to prosecute them for their comments and actions.
The PDP in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Matthew Urhoghide and made available to LEADERSHIP in Benin said that in the apology, Governor Oshiomhole must specify among others that “he is aware now and believes it implicitly that Edo PDP, its leaders and Chief Tony Anenih had no hand in the death of Mr. Olaitan Oyerinde”, and that “he is aware now and believes it implicitly that Edo PDP had no hand in the accident of his convoy that killed three budding journalists.”
But in a swift reaction, the ACN chairman, Hon Thomas Okosun , said the party do not owe any apology to Chief Anenih nor the PDP over the killing of Olaitan even as he stressed that the conflicting report on Olaitan by the SSS and Police was to cover up those who had carried out the dastardly act.
According to Okosun, “ we have no apology to either the PDP or Chief Anenih and we do not believe in that investigation , we have to wait for it to be concluded before we take any action. What they are trying to do, is beating the guns. It is already clear before the whole world that even the investigation is fraught with irregularities and so cannot be relied on, I say that emphatically.
