A supervisor with the Petroleum Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPRA), Fakuade Babafemi Ebenezer, who is among those currently standing trial for an alleged fuel subsidy scam, is yet to perfect his bail conditions.

Ebenezer was among the 15 persons so far arraigned and granted bail by the Lagos High Court in Ikeja.

Ebenezer and four others were arraigned before Justice Habeeb Abiru  for fraudulently obtaining N1.96 billion from the Petroleum Support Fund for a purported importation of 39.2 litres of Premium Motor Spirit.

But he was granted bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties. One of the sureties the judge said must be a blood relation while the other must have a landed property in Lagos.

LEADERSHIP, however,  gathered that while Ebenezer had been able to get a blood relation to stand as surety it had been difficult for him to get a surety with a landed property in Lagos.

The trial of most of the suspects so far arraigned are expected to commence in October. More suspects are expected to be  arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) when the court returns from vacation.
