Two local councils-one in Bayelsa state, and another in Katsina- are fiercely contesting federal population numbers assigned to their areas seven years ago in one of Nigeria's most controversial head count.

Southern Ijaw and Rimi local government councils separately, on Thursday, faulted the population figures declared by the National Population Commission for their areas in 2006.http://spammer.blogspot.com/2013/04/bayelsa-katsina-local-councils-reject.html
