Amaechi: They want to impeach me; but I’m in full control

Embattled governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, has finally admitted to being the likely subject of a federal-government instigated impeachment over his standoff with President Goodluck Jonathan.

After repeatedly denying such threats, a spokesperson for the state, Ibim Semenitari, who is the state commissioner for information, said Mr. Ameachi was being targeted for removal, but warned that the governor’s mandate will be defended.

She spoke on Monday in Port Harcourt as the row between the governor and the president deteriorates.http://bit.ly/11cqFNX
