BREAKING News: Explosion Rocks Buhari’s Hometown, Daura

Muhammadu Buhari

Explosion and sporadic gunshots rocked the quiet town
of Daura, Katsina state, home town of opposition leader,
Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday night.

The attack started at about 10 p.m. and was still ongoing
one hour later. Witnesses said the attackers brought down
a police station and robbed banks and homes.

Some residents said the attack started around Daura Motel
in the city centre before the attackers moved against banks
and a police station.
Another witness said the attackers freed detainees at the police station in the town and then threw explosions at the station and prison.

It is unclear if the attackers are members of the extremist Boko Haram sect that has been terrorizing northern Nigeria since 2009.

The attack comes barely 48 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in three northern states — Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
Katsina, also home to late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, under whose watch the Boko Haram sect transformed to a terror organization, has managed to remain insulated from the security crises in northern Nigeria.

The police in Katsina were unavailable for comments Thursday night....

It's nothing but a ruse, Buhari is a sly fox !! , Perhaps the security forces are on to him and in an attempt to deflect the attention on himself and his gang, and also to lead the security forces off the trail of their investigation, he's attacking his hometown , it's a Machiavellian tactics. But we ain't fooled !!!

Buhari has always been suspected of being one of the kingpins of the insurgency in the northern region, not without good reasons, The man's ill considered gaffes, inflammatory remarks , and his religious fanaticism are some of the reasons why most accusing fingers are pointing in his direction, The point is, if the law are closing in on him, would he set his hometown on fire to deflect attention ?? Common wisdom suggests otherwise , But common wisdom does not apply to a desperate man,  Buhari and the whole muslim north's desperation to disgrace JONATHAN out of office has no Inhibition, so this attack at Durra katsina is their machination !!!

Update on Daura Attack:
Three Nigerian Soldiers, Five Gunmen Killed….
The army said a van filled with money was recovered
..

The Nigerian Army on Friday confirmed that three soldiers were killed in an attack by gunmen in Daura, Katsina State.
Garba Wahab, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 1 Division, Nigerian Army, who disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna, said several of the attackers were also killed.

Earlier, the police commissioner in Katsina, Abdullahi Magaji, said five of the gunmen were killed.
The police commissioner said the gunmen bombed two police stations and four banks in the town on Thursday night. He said one of the suspects was killed on Thursday night while the other four were trailed and killed on Mani-Dutsi road around 9.30 a.m. on Friday.

Mr. Magaji refused to confirm the death of two policemen in the incident. He said 10 guns, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, as well as two vehicles belonging to the suspects were recovered.

He said a police special squad was combing the area to smoke out some of the gunmen who escaped and appealed to residents to cooperate with security agents by exposing the hideouts of such criminals and their activities.

Mr. Wahab also said that the army and other security personnel had cordoned off three areas in the city and were conducting a house-to-house search “to fish out some of the wounded gunmen who forced their way into peoples’ homes.”

He said that the army was coordinating with security agencies in Niger Republic as “80 to 90 per cent of these gun men are not Nigerians.”

Mr. Wahab added that a vehicle loaded with the stolen cash was recovered, in addition to four AK-47 rifles. He said that the operation to fish out the culprits was ongoing, and advised residents of Daura and the neighbouring local government areas of Baure, Sandamu, Mashi, and Dutsi to cooperate with security agents by reporting suspicious movements around them.

“What happened this morning is similar to what happened in Bama where the gunmen burnt prison and police stations to divert attention,’’ he said.

80~90% of the terrorists  are Nigerians, they are none other than Hausa/Fulani men, !!!
What about Benue state and the rest of the middle belt,  all the killings and rampaging going on there, do we ascribe that to foreigners as well ??,
