A car with registration number, Lagos FST 931 AR, on Saturday along Bukan Sidi in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital, veered off its lane unto pedestrians on the other side of the road, crushing three to death and leaving one critically injured.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Nasarawa, Francis Udoma, confirmed that two among the three victims were brothers between the ages of 9 and 16.
Mr. Udoma said the incident happened at about 8:45 p.m. in Bukan-sidi area, along Lafia-Jos road.
He alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was over speeding before losing control of the car.
“The unfortunate incident happened after the driver was drunk, so he could not control the car again and crushed three people, including two boys of the same parents.
“The car veered off his lane to the other side of the road where he crushed the three people, who died instantly and leaving another in a critical condition,” Mr. Udoma said.
A witness said that the car somersaulted and killed the three passersby opposite Investment House at Bukan-Sidi, around 8:35 p.m.
“Suddenly the car veered off his lane and ran into the pedestrian path on the other side,” the witness said.
The bodies of the dead and injured victims were taken to a nearby private hospital by witnesses before the arrival of the FRSC officials.
