The victim's father has lodged a complaint against a few unidentified persons who were continuously intimidating her.
According to the police, the victim was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her father in one of the rooms of the house. He immediately called the police. "We were told by the family that the girl was allegedly raped by a youth of the same village, in which police had arrested the accused. However, the family alleged that she had been getting threatening calls with some unidentified people putting pressure on her to withdraw the complaint," a police officer said.
The family is on a sit-in dharna with the body saying they won't allow post-mortem until police arrest the accused who threatened the girl.
"We have urged the family to go for post-mortem and post death rituals as we also assured them that stringent action would be taken against the accused who were allegedly threatening her," a senior officer said.
