The excited model posted a letter to baby Carmen on her Tumblr page after the birth was announced.
In the letter, the teen shares some words of wisdom with her little sister and welcomes her into the world.

'You have been born into one crazy family,' the daughter of Alec and Kim Basinger writes. 'You are both lucky and cursed at the same time. We are going to have so fun much fun together.'
Ireland composed the 1800 word letter before meeting Carmen, and wrote: 'I can’t wait to meet you soon. I promise you I will always be there for you no matter what! Never forget!'
In particular, the statuesque 6ft 2in blonde advises Carmen on how to deal with her famous father and life in the spotlight.
'Remember that your parents will always love you,' Ireland urges. 'As a kid, you forget that sometimes. When they are screaming about this and bickering about that. It hurts.

'Grown ups yell. I don’t know why, but they do. No matter what your mom or Dad says or does, simply remember that they love the s*** out of you.'
And the precocious teenager also advises to be careful who to trust when 'you have parents who are in the public eye.'
She explains: 'A lot of people are going to want to be your friend because of it. Don’t buy everyone dinner or tickets to the One Direction reunion concert because you feel obligated to do it. Make sure your friends love you for who YOU are, Carmen. NO other reason.'
Ireland is clearly already feeling protective of her sister and has lots to say on the matter of alcohol and marijuana.

'When you want to try your first drink, it should be with me,' Ireland says, adding: 'Don’t be that girl that gets wasted at parties and crawls on bathroom floors. It ain’t cute.'
The model goes on: 'As for weed, don’t smoke it at a party. Be somewhere safe. With people you trust. Like in a treehouse with me and pizza hut…I… I mean friends. Not me. Ha. I’ll be like… 40…. But I’ll still come anyway.'
Ireland is currently loved up with boyfriend Slater Trout and naturally has some sagacity to pass down on the subject of boys.

Alec, 55, and his 29-year-old yoga instructor wife joyfully announced the birth of their baby girl on Friday evening in New York.
