Boko Haram: Shettima Weeps Over Alleged FG’s Neglect Of Borno

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State wept publicly yesterday over the federal government’s alleged indifference to the plight of the people of state since the Boko Haram crisis started.

At the presentation of the KYAN machines to 40 teachers trained in India at the Government House, Maiduguri, the governor said the federal government gave N25 billion to communities affected by oil spillage in Cross Rivers, N3 billion to the Nollywood and gave Borno only N200 million as assistance over the four years that insurgents held the state down.

He said the money amounted to nothing when compared to the magnitude of killings and destruction of both public and private properties worth billions of naira by terrorists
