There is always a level when maturity must have being attained. A level where it’s no more about physical punishment… Rather, about coaching. Reverse is the case in most private university especially Covenant University where there have been reported cased of student being given corporal punishment.
A 200 level student of a Covenant University was ordered to kneel down during a general lecture by a lecturer.Remember a photo also went viral last time some students were asked to kneel down in BOWEN University for missing church service..
Yeah, the bible said, spare the rod and spoil the child, notspare the rod and spoil the ADULT.

Sorry but I doubt this will do much to the mindset of Nigerians. Instead such "discipline" will see them rebelling against established authority later in life.

Young people in university (they are not children) should learn from their own mistakes. Imposing punishment on a child (in another university - sometime back) because they failed to attend a church service is ludicrous!

The thing is, in Nigeria anyhing remotely related to the church (any denomination) is carried on over the top. Each church tries to outdo the other with their rules and regulations.

Maybe they should get God to send down a score sheet at the end of every year to show the 'overseeers' how many of their members made it into heaven!
