Nigeria on Tuesday night won a comprehensive 3-0 win over Sweden in Dubai to qualify for the final of the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored his third goal in two games in the 21st minute to help send the Golden Eaglets through to the final, where they will meet Mexico in another Group F rematch.
Mexico had earlier beaten Argentina 3-0 in the first semi final.
Both Nigeria and Sweden had settled for a 3-3 draw in a group game but the Eaglets were not in the mood to share the spoils on Tuesday especially with the mass of the Dubai crowd rooting for them.
Sweden made serious attempts to trouble Nigeria during the second half but the Eaglets got their insurance goals inside the last ten minutes.
Samuel Okon cut in from the left and hammered his shot low and inside the post to end Sweden’s dream.
It was all over even before Chidera Ezeh added a third seconds later to make it 3-0 and send Nigeria to the final, where they will be pressing hard for their fourth title.
