A-LIST radio and television presenter Caroline Sampson has told NEWS-ONE that though her two-year old baby boy is one of the greatest sources of joy and inspiration in her life, she did not really plan to have a baby as at the time she got pregnant.

She made the disclosure to caution the several young ladies who look up to her as their role model and have expressed the wish of becoming single mothers and living as happy and hard working professional ladies making some good money.

“Many young ladies come to me and say they want t be like me. I ask how they want to be like me and they say they want to become famous and I say to them it is not just about fame so they have to work hard and get serious with their lives….There are others who even say ‘oh Caroline I admire the way you have a child yet you are happy and working and making money. I want to do same.’ But that is a wrong aspiration because I did not plan to be a single mother. This was not my wish or plan for myself. It was a mistake although I have been able to climb over it and moved on with my life and I am happy now,” Caroline told NEWS-ONE.

On her advice to those who see her as their role model, this was what she had to say: “I think the young ones are playing too much although they have all the opportunities they need to make it. They use their access to the internet to seek the wrong information.

“I believe they have to work harder and get really serious in everything. They way you carry yourself around, the way you dress or even speak is what would make a man think of either taking you serious or just taking you for granted.”

Caroline has a mesmerizing voice and stunning looks that combine to make her a natural charmer. She is currently with YFM, having worked with Citi FM, Atlantic Radio and Pravda Radio all in Accra.

She was one of the finalists of the Miss Malaika pageant in 2005 as well as a contestant of the Top Model Ghana in 2006.

Aside radio and television, she does fulltime modelling, commercial voice-overs and brand endorsements which she told NEWS-ONE are earning her some good cash.

“At the beginning it was not easy but I have been on radio for nine years now and it is paying off. I am making good money from the voice-overs I do and now I am getting endorsements. There is even one that would start in January and I charge for all these works. I get one job, I give it my best then I get a link to another one and I keep making money,” she disclosed.

She has cat-walked for local and international designers including Ozwald Boateng, Kofi Ansah, Nana Asihene and House of Eccentric.
On television, she is remembered in adverts such as TVC’s for Menthos, Men Only, Gino Tomato paste, and Kasapa.

Caroline, who is incredibly gifted, is into music and has featured in tracks including that of Tema-based tongue-twisting rapper Geminy, Asem (Pigaro), 4X4 (Hot Girls – Remix), Mimi (Leave Me Alone -Remix).

She attended the Creator JHS, Mfantsiman Senior High School at Saltpond and the African University College of Communication (AUCC).
