It's a question that is bound to ruffle a few feathers but it needs to be answered.
It’s a hotly contested debate and one, which has caused sore throats, huge divides in the workplace and many battered egos. Today we are going delve deep into this topic to see if there is any truth to this statement.
So how do we define a dangerous driver? Well I could give you the long drawn out definition from the Oxford Dictionary, but that would be pointless but in general it is a driver who:
Does not look both ways before crossing a T-junction.
Does not check his/her side mirrors when overtaking
Weaves in and out of lanes just to get a few metres ahead of everyone else.
Does not value the safety of others.
So are women more likely to disobey the rules of the road that they can be branded more dangerous than men?
Attacking this issue from a scientific standpoint, studies have shown that men and women have very different traits, which may influence their behaviour. This includes driving as well. A woman would feel safer in her own vehicle as now she is in control. This would mean she has no reason to feel inferior to the other gender as such making her equal to men.
