Here's a bizarre email I got from a batch A Corp member serving in Victory Model College, Efodo - Okpo, Olamaboro L.G.A of Kogi State. The mail below and the threat written on a blackboard above
It's no good news to hear that NYSC Corp Members are treated with discontentment in Kogi State, especially in remote local government like Olamaboro. There have been cases of some drunk youths ganging up to launch attack on corpers at their capital project sites, accusing them of integrating strange norms into their culture
Let me go straight to what I witnessed this morning. I woke up this morning like every other boring mornings in the village where I serve, dressed up, and went to the school. On arrival, all the students were gathered at one corner looking at me and the other Corp members, some with satisfaction, while others with pity. On getting to the class rooms, we saw some write-ups directly warning me and other three(3) batch A Corp members. The pictures attached to this email will help tell the story better (even with the wrong English).

Is this really a photo of a school in 21st century Nigeria?
It looks so prehistoric! Forget about the threat to the lives of the corp members - I would hate to be posted for my one year national service to a place that looks like something out of a neolithic sge!
Nigeria really must do something about its "stone age" look!

Am a Benue guy, Kogi is formaly pat of Benue b4 we beg dem 2 go their own ways. Copper, my advice 2 you is dat, if u no dat u d one lukin 4 trouble, u beta stop it n play akodin 2 dia own ways. Kogi ar not people dat 4giv. but, they dnt luk 4 trouble

Since they don't want to learn and they saw an opportunity they want to misuse it. D corper shld not take dis threat wit levity cus they are always very violent in kogi state. D corpers shld report to d authorities.

You are very lucky 4 the first time kogi gave some body a warnin. der believe in pay back with charms, we call dem d CHARMANISMS. pple dat practice d faith of keepin charms as dia helper,protector,power,provider,guildiance,etc. COPPER, be wise up.

Am a Bonafide Kogi kid. honestly kogi state is in the state of anarchy!. the government are nt functioning. the headline above is just a threat. by the time we go repeat wetin hapen for 2010.them go know. ok now let be sincere, how can the secondary sch student be responsible for the salaries of the corpers? whats the function of the government? we get Governor self? mtchww! My words are ESOTERIC!

Some corpers sef nawa, do ur teaching if dm dey interested or not, no concern ursef too much wit wetin no concern u for school. Dts an advise if u understand what I mean.
