The Publicity Secretary of the party, Andy Nweye said the registration officers were assaulted in Tombia and Old Bakana in Kalabari area of the state.
He said APC officials were also attacked in Woji, which is ward six of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
Nweye also debunked claims by the PDP that the registration exercise was being conducted in polling units designated by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Nweye said the party was not desperate for new members and wondered why the PDP was worried over its registration exercise.
In the meantime, DailyPost correspondent who visited Okrika Local Government Area to monitor the progress of APC registration, reported that members were not seen doing any registration.
People were seen going about their businesses, seemingly unaware of any registration of members by the political party.
Also, there were reports of low turnout of members in some other parts of the state.
Meanwhile, the Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI, says it is not against the membership registration exercise of the APC.
GDI President, Bright Amawhule said the group was opposed to the use of polling centres designated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the exercise.
Amwuhule, who spoke to newsmen in Port Harcourt said while the GDI recognized that it lacked the power to act on behalf of INEC, it would not be part of what it described as an illegality.
A rundown of the gazzetted copy of the Electoral Act-2010 does not show any section that makes reference to INEC regulating how or where political parties should conduct their membership registration.
A senior lawyer, who is also a top official of INEC, also affirmed that the electoral commission has no role to play in the registration of members of political parties.
In the meantime, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and other key individuals in the state are yet to do their registration.
