Benue: Fulanis Take War to Gov Suswam, Take Gov's town Hostage, Invade Others

News reaching NaijaSharpNews from reliable sources in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital, indicates that the home town of the Benue State Governor, Governor Gabriel Torwua Suswam Tingir, has been taken hostage by nomads in the State. Our sources in Makurdi said the assembly of attackers stormed the Governor's home town, Anyim,  in tens this afternoon, and also invaded Azege, Ayilmo, Iorza and Sevav  all in Logo local govt area of Benue state. Hundreds of People have been displaced as a result of today's unfortunate attack, NaijaSharpNews sources have said. The number of casualties have not been ascertained yet as at the time of filing in the report.

It can be recalled that the Benue State Governor, acting under the instruction of the President, Goodluck Jonathan, moved to sift Nomads out of the State, a move that provoked an attack that claimed  the lives of over 50 local residents late last month.

Moves to secure the police side of the story were unsuccessful as calls put through relevant Police authorities in the State did not go through.
