President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that he is the president of Nigeria because of Katsina state.
Speaking yesterday during a courtesy visit to the emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, Jonathan said had it not been for the state, he would have still been in Bayelsa as governor and not Nigeria’s number one man.
Jonathan said he was eternally grateful to the state.
"I am the president of Nigeria because of Katsina State. Without Katsina, I would have been in Bayelsa as governor," he said.
Jonathan while noting that water supply was on the administration’s drawing board, assured the people of government determination to strengthen water supply for both domestic and agricultural uses
Jonathan was accompanied on his two-day working visit to the state by the ministers of agriculture, information and mines and steel development.
Others include former governors Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano), Saminu Turaki (Jigawa) and Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto).
