Angry Mob Storms Senior Police Officer’s Mansion Over Underground Ritual Cell An angry mob stormed a three storey mansion allegedly owned by a retired senior police officer in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Monday.

The agressively tuned men pelted the window panes with stones, steel and other objects, assuming that there's an underground cell for rituals in the house.

They also claimed that an underground cell was used as a harbor where ritual syndicates go for supply of flesh blood and human parts.

Trying to gain entry and torch the house they battered the high perimeter wall surrounding the building.
And only the the quick arrival of a security personnel from the State Security Service(SSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Special Anti – Robbery Squad(SARS) and Policemen from Eleweran saved the building from arson.

When they entered the building, two female tenants were found inside the mansion on Agogo – Ogun
compound, Ijaiye area.

The woman were panicking and begging for safety as the youths continued to besiege the compound.
Even the firing of gunshot into the air by the police couldn't calm the crowd as they demanded to search every corner of the building otherwise they would not leave the compound.

By noon the Balogun of Ijaiye and Aare of Egbaland, Alh. Ganiyu Babayedun Alimo, was called to ease the heightened tensions.

Upon his arrival to the scene, the officers were instructed to broke the gate so that a search could be conducted on the building.

The seach lasted for almost an hour and was conducted with the help of a search team consisting of the Balogun Ijaiye, youth leader, selected natives, SSS, SARS, NSCDC, Police, operative of the Vigilante Service of Ogun State(VSO) .

They explored every room, including toilet and enclosure within the expanse house and found no underground cell.

The Balogun referred to the irate mob - who had been threatening to bring the building down if their suspicions were confirmed - trying to disperse them.

But it didn't work out and the police repeatedly fired into the air several times to scare people away.
