The United States must launch an immediate rescue effort to save the abducted Nigerian schoolgirls from sex slavery and forced marriages to their Islamic extremist kidnappers, politicians and terrorism experts said Wednesday.

“It is essential that the United States target Boko Haram and provide necessary support to save the lives of these young girls,” said Rep. Peter King (R-LI), a member of the Homeland Security Committee and chairman of the Sub-Committee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence.

“Boko Haram is a particularly evil and vicious component of the Islamic terrorist network.”
