Well I totally agree with her, but how many African men will allow their woman to be independent? Some married successful women have said, their men feel they get shoulder to shoulder with them in terms of cash, which is unacceptable. Some of these men have told their wives they regret letting them work in the first place, while some out rightly stop them from working at some point.
I know a lady who is very successful at what she does, but her husband always feels threatened by success. They have two kids together, and at a point, he stopped her from working. She stopped working and after 9 months she opted for a divorce because the man could not meet their needs.
Her kids stayed at home for days because they could not pay school fees, it was so bad that they had to sell one of their cars at a point and yet the man refused to let her go back to work.
Why do you think some men can’t stand women who try to live independent lives (a woman who does not ask too much from her husband)?
