Breaking News: Ebonyi House Of Assembly Serves Gov Elechi Impeachment Notice

ABAKALIKI- EBONYI state House of Assembly Friday morning served an impeachment notice on Governor Martin Elechi over what it described as act of gross misconduct by the Governor.

Reading the notice at the plenary, the acting leader of the House, Hon. Francis Nwifruru accused the Governor of huge financial misappropriation, undermining of the integrity of the House, among other offences.
The motion for him to be served the notice was moved by Hon. Odefa Obasi Odefa and seconded by Hon. Valentine Okike

By now you should understand the parochial interest of all politicians in Nigerian irrespective of party affiliation.. Self interest comes first before citizens interest. The governor not supporting PDP is because in the battle of wits, he lost out to deliver his preferred candidate as the PDP governorship flag-bearer. So him not supporting PDP is based on his inability to achieve his mundane parochial interest and not on ideological difference in the way PDP is executing governance. So the battle playing out is a battle of wits and it is the next phase in the drama after the assembly complex was set on fire by spirits some days ago. Until real internal democracy subsist in our political parties wherein members are financial contributors paying monthly membership dues, money bags will continue to usurp the system to impose their choices on the electorate and we will continue to wander in darkness coupled with the immunity clause enjoyed by the 36 emperor governors/their deputies and the president and his vice which is the fulcrum of stealing of public funds and impunity across board in the country.
