Two Motorcycle riders have been crushed to death by a truck in Jos, the Plateau State capital. The Director, State Security Services, MI Ngoshe, said this yesterday while briefing members of the security and intelligence committee in Jos.

He said the truck crushed the motorcyclists around the Lamingo area, while they were trying to cross a road diverted by a construction firm. Ngoshe added that some motorcycle riders following the incident took the law into their hands and started chasing away the workers of the construction firm from the site.

The state Police Commissioner Mr Gregory Anyanting said police had already commenced investigation into the incident and advised youths to always avoid taking the law into their hands. The Chairman of the Plateau State Commercial Motorcycles Workers Alhaji Babangida Shehu said their association had investigated the matter, saying the people who blocked the road and chased the construction firm workers from the area were members of the communities in the area, not his members.
