It's now official! She has made history!! A new record is set as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Taraba, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan has emerged the first woman to be elected a State governor in Nigeria.
Alhassan, according to reports, polled 306,616 to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate who polled 306,154 in the keenly contested poll.
We congratulate Nigerian women in general and Madam Governor-elect in particular for this historic victory.
