Congratulations to the Super Fit Model Sarah Stage, who has given birth to a fit, healthy, baby boy.

In fact, her son James Hunter, who was born on Tuesday, is not only fit and healthy, but weighed in at an impressive 8Ib 7oz (8 Pound 7 Ounce Baby Boy) . Yes, what a whopper.

The Super Fit 30 year old US model, Sarah Stage, confirmed the happy news to us, saying: ‘He’s a big healthy boy and he got an APGAR score of eight to
nine.’

APGAR, which stands for ‘Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, Respiration’ is a test used by midwives to assess a baby’s health. Anything over eight is considered good news.

The happy news is sure to come as a shock to many people, who criticised Sarah for her athletic figure and accused her putting her unborn child at risk with her healthy diet and exercise regime.

Her critics’ fears were obviously unfounded though, something that is confirmed by official NHS guidelines, which explain that exercising during pregnancy is perfectly healthy.

The NHS website explains: ‘The more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain.’

It goes on: ‘Exercise is not dangerous for your baby – there is some evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour.’

However, the NHS website does explain that women shouldn’t suddenly take up exercise during pregnancy, stating: ‘If you weren’t active before you got pregnant, don’t suddenly take up strenuous exercise.’

The model became popular by regularly posting photos on instagram showing off her tiny, barely-there pregnancy belly. In the photo above, she was nearly 9 months.

What an amazing bod she got which produces this beautiful and healthy baby boy.
