If I were Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, after May 29th when I have been successfully sworn-in and assumed leadership of the country, I will re-declare a State of Emergency on Boko Haram.

Hold on.....please don't crucify me yet, just read on....

My type of State of Emergency will be different from that of Goodluck Jonathan's armed forces. I will NOT be declaring a state of emergency on Borno, Yobe or Adamawa or any state just to punish law-abiding innocent citizens. NEVER.

I will rather declare a State of Emergency on the entire armed forces in Nigeria. That is where the problem lies. All Brigadiers and Major Generals in the country would be booted out (if you want me to use the word 'retire' - so be it) to give way to a new set of incorruptible Generals.

I will then move ahead to disband the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in the North-east and replace it with a Special Task Force and give it a 3-month marching order to end the insurgency, which I have earlier said "IS A FRAUD". (Apology to GMB).

The Special Task Force, shall comprise mainly of the best of my infantry soldiers, airforce personnel, mobile policeman and well-trained Civilian JTFs, who understands the terrain the terrorists operate in very well. The code-name for the operation shall be OPERATION UBANSU, which, primarily, centres on ATTACK rather than being on the DEFENSIVE.

Knowing full well that I shall be inheriting a demoralised and poorly-trained/equipped armed forces, I shall put my ego aside as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by working with the strongest armed forces in the sub-region which is that of Chad, then with that of Niger and Cameroon, so that they could commence a decisive military push of Boko Haram elements from their end while the best of my gallant soldiers/Task Force squad shall push from here.

While the war is going on, my government will not hide anything from the outside world. We shall wage a brutal, yet an accountable war, on the enemies of the nation, where I shall personally ensure that salaries and allowances meant for soldiers on the front line are paid as at when due. By being accountable, I shall also show to Nigerians and the whole world the dead bodies of Boko Haram members killed on the battle front or faces of arrested members. If we say we killed 300 insurgents we would not hesitate to show their dead bodies to the entire world and give them mass burial. To hell with Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch. I shall not keep telling Nigerians that my military kill hundreds of terrorists yet no proof!

If, at all, our armed forces under my watch are conducting aerial reconnaissance or bombardment, I shall not tolerate my fighter pilots taking mere videos of fleeing terrorists and doing nothing; in fact, I want to see action; I want to see videos of my jets pounding or bombarding all terrorists' positions.

Finally, yes, finally finally, I shall make it a duty to visit my troops on the battlefield weekly to assess their operations, even if it means paying an unscheduled visit to my ground troops.
