The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has warned that Ndigbo will not tolerate further marginalization in Nigeria, urging President Muhammadu Buhari to address the issue without further delay. This was disclosed by the Chief Ralph Uwazurike-led MASSOB Women Director for Anambra North, Amaka Okafor while briefing newsmen following a closed door meeting with the regional administrators and other top MASSOB members, yesterday in Onitsha. “We will use this month of August women meeting to pray more fervently as we have embarked on prayer session throughout Igbo land to ask God to help us actualize our cause. “We cannot achieve this without fervent prayers and we ask our women in Igbo land to ensure they use this August meeting of women to mobilize the women for the prayer which will be headed by the prayer warriors we have employed. “We have been marginalized for about four decades and that prompted Chief Uwazurike to vow that the marginalization must stop and actualizing a Biafran state is the only way it will stop,” she said. Speaking further, Okafor noted that “for the women to come out in their large number to speak against the injustice being meted out to Igbos by the Federal Government in Biafran land shows that they are fed up and can no longer tolerate it. “It was for this same reason that we had the Aba women riot of 1929 when the women protested because they were asked to pay tax by the government and we said no and today again, we saying no to the marginalization of the Igbo,” she said.

What are they asking and looking for? So Jonathan did not do anything for them during his tenure? Why the federal government and what about the state government? Does that mean they are going to riot like that of 1929? Separatism is not the answer.

what is the problem with letting them go? if the country can no longer look after them like other nations, then they have right to their freedom. let them go. in fact divide the corrupt country into 3 immediately.

One need to seriously feel bad for the BIAFRA movement, they have been crying for independence since 1960 and I wonder what differentiates this from slavery, I mean why enslave people if they clearly want to be independent as a country of their own? whats the deal here?

Talking about 1960….Please do not distort history and stop blackmailing. You need to double check the history of this nation and ask yourself how we got to this point.
No one is holding anyone to ransom and they (Ibo) are not slaves. How are they being enslaved? Please explain….that is uncalled for. Our problem in this country is intolerance and that is very evident on this forum.
I am wondering if the president has the constitutional power to divide this country. The best option for any separatist group is to seek the help of UN ......that will be the best deal because the Ibo have the right to self-determination. Another option is to hold a referendum nationally or regionally especially the region seeking independence. This was how South-Sudan was created. If we cannot live together in peace we can go our separate ways in peace. I just don’t want bloodshed ever again meaning another civil war.
Enough of so much noise from the four or so major tribes. The fact is you have nations within the nation of Nigeria consisting of over 300 tribes.

If that be the case Biafra will be a land-locked country without access to the sea. They will have to depend on the southern states. I thought the south-south is part of this secession led by Dokubo?
