Three suspects have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly initiating 35 students of various tertiary institutions into cultism.
The suspects, Kingsley Nwachukwu, Amoo Oboba and Innocent Essien, were reportedly arrested at Ogbese Forest in Ovia Northeast Local Government Area.
Fifteen of the students were said to be from the same institution.
The suspects were allegedly  moving from one state to another to initiate students into cultism.
Policemen were said to have caught them during the initiation ceremony, following a tip-off.
The suspects allegedly attempted to flee the scene on sighting the police.
Edo police spokesman Stephen Onwochei, said a locally made revolver and three live cartridges were recovered from a car belonging to the suspects.
Onwochei said the police would investigate cult-related activities and robbery because of the high rate of armed robbery in the area.
He said the suspects would be charged to court.

Though your punishment proposal seem harsh.....I support. Cos it'll serve as a deterrent to intending offenders.

What a waste, what do they gain from cultism, death, misery and affliction, the blood money will destroy them and their soul to the bone, idiots instead of them to think about coming together to find ways of lifting education, improving society, making education a basic and fundamental Nigerian right, they are turning their Brian's to empty shells.

I love and support your idea, but we all know that the rich and their children will not be touched because of their political and financial clout. Such law is all geared toward the poor. Who is going to touch the son of a governor or a minister who is a cultist?[/color]
