Wanted Boko Haram Member Nabbed At Abuja International Airport Trying To Escape

One of the 100 suspected Boko Haram terrorists declared wanted recently by the Nigerian Army has been apprehended at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, in Abuja.

at about 5pm been told of it by a reader who witnessed the arrest but I couldn't post till now cos I was waiting from confirmation. Well, Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman has just confirmed it.

Boko Haram terrorist suspect Chindo Bello, had been declared wanted two weeks ago by the Nigerian Army. He was on Sunday arrested at the Nnamdi ‎Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja as he was boarding Aero Contractors’ Airline flight to Lagos.

According to my source, Chindo was arrested after he made a call at the airport and told someone on the other line that he shouldn't come to the airport that his pictures were every where. The abokis reportedly heard him and alerted security. Above is a screenshot of the chat between my source and her friend who witnessed the arrest.


This good news was announced moments ago by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, in a press statement sent to Naij.com.

According to the statement, the apprehended terrorist, Chindo Bello, was caught by Aviation Security today, November 8, as he was boarding Aero Contractors’ Airline flight to Lagos.

It was added that the suspect has since been handed over to the military intelligence for interrogation and prosecution.

The statement added: “We would like to thank those eagle eyed and patriotic security agents and good citizens for the tip off that led to the arrest of the suspect.

“The Nigerian Army would like to reiterate the need for all well meaning Nigerians and those residing in our great country to be more vigilant and assist security agencies with information about the declared wanted terrorists, their sponsors and other criminals in our midst.”



UPDATE

The name of the arrested member is Chindo Bello and he is one of the top commanders in North East Boko haram chapter
