OUTREACH: Cross section of members of Mothers of Nations International Organisation during their Ketu- Alapere medical outreach recently in Lagos.
Some of them left their homes in curiosity. But to the amazement of all, the distribution was true. A visit to the community revealed obvious lack among the people. More pathetic sight is the struggle for the items.
But their benefactor, the President, Mother of Nations International Organisation, Rev. Mother Edith Daniel was on hand to maintain decorum that there was enough food, drugs, medical doctors, pharmacists and a handful of nurses to attend to everyone. That announcement brought the needed relief to hundreds of helpless Nigerians.
Hosted by St Barnabas Church, Agboyi, Ketu, Alapere, Lagos, the people benefitted from spiritual healing. Medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, Ministers of God and counsellors from Nigeria and outside the country works of life were on ground. The quarterly programme which has been on for years was targeted at the less privileged Nigerians in the hard to reach areas. The last train of the outreach was in Makoko area of Lagos where over 1,000 residents were feed both spiritually and physically.
The satisfaction for the President, Rev. Edith Daniel is that, what she was unable to do over 25 years ago, she has been able to fulfil God’s purpose for her life. Recounting how she was motivated into establishing the outreach, she said, “I ran away from this work for over 25 years but eventually God arrested me to do it. I came into this work through divine prophesy.
God used one Rev John Akinyemi from Ibadan to bring me back to God purpose for me, which is touching lives. Another pastor God used was, Bishop Chidi Odinaka who saw me in his church and screamed and the Lord directed him to get a young virgin to release seven bottles of anointing oil on my head,” she narrated.
Daniel, said the mission of the outreach which comprises women ministers from different denominations was to touch lives and put smiles on the faces of people said during every outing they prepare for over 1000 people.
She further disclosed that Mothers of Nations mission was also to pray for presidents of nations as well as help the needy. ” Apart from the distribution of food items such as rice, clothes, shoes among others, the people of the community benefitted from free medical screening for High Blood Pressure, diabetes, eye tests and distribution of eye glasses.
Responding, the Chief Host who is also the St Barnabas Anglican Church, Vicar’s wife, Agboyi, Mrs. Patricia Louis described the gesture as an act of God. According to her, getting down to people who are really in need is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Relating her experience in the community, she said: “It has not been easy when you mix with people with diverse religious belief. But knowing what you are out to do you do it with all courage which is the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lamenting the unhealthy life style of the people she said: “Here, you see a lot of people smoking and drinking all sorts but I am fulfilled coming to this other side of Agboyi community. If you are not determined you may derail.”
