Senator Ben Murray Bruce has reacted to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to ban Nigerians from using their debit and credit cards abroad. Reports about the planned ban came to light few days ago when BBC quoted a source as saying that the CBN will from January 1st 2016 stop foreign purchase via the use of credit or debit card. The decision is reportedly part of the government’s effort to try to stem the flow of foreign exchange out of the country.
The CBN has also reportedly written to various commercial banks about this decision while some banks have also notified their customers, saying it is a temporary measure. Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce however thinks this decision is not a wise one.
His reaction below............
I have been reporting on latest news from Nigeria for almost 10 years now. I report on every possible news area I come across, but always ensure my reports are compiled with dignity and fact to uphold my personal values and duty as a journalist

I will like to ask this question, if it were to be the rich people or the politicians that were mostly using this card will it have been possible for the cental bank to ban it? No it time for you to see now that they want to limit the poor from the rich.

The same politician like you use other people to do their evil act. Or you have not read it when some people were arrested at the airport with cash. CBN is right and FG need to block some of the loopholes

There are otger ways to handle this problem. This has never happened in any country in the universe. America, Russia, China, Uk, France, Italy and Germany will soon blacklist Nigeria. If the CBN governor doesn't know what next to do,he should resign. What do you want Nigerians studying abroad to do? How do you want companies that import items abroad continue doing business? Or is this a way of dividing this country? Nigerians should wake up and protest against this rubbish. SAY NO TO BAN OF ATM USE ABROAD
