As 2015 draws to a close and the new year draw closer, we can’t help but remember some drama that took place in Nigeria during the year and got a lot of people talking. GISTMANIA has put together the top six things that happened in Nigeria that made major headlines…

Boko Haram:

The terror wrecked in Nigeria’s North east by the insurgent group even until December 28th, will continue to be remembered as one of the shocks Nigerians had to deal with in 2015.

Muhammadu Buhari:

Former military head of state winning the 2015 presidential  election after unsuccessfully running for the office of the President in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 general elections. Buhari made history by defeating incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan making it the first time in Nigerian history for an incumbent president to loose.
Goodluck Jonathan: became the first sitting Nigerian president to loose an election, that is the 2015 presidential election, upon which he conceded defeat.

Dasukigate:

Former National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President of Nigeria, Saambo Dasuki’s arrest for allegedly stealing $2bn and accused of awarding phantom contracts to buy 12 helicopters, four fighter jets, and ammunition meant for the Nigeria’s military campaign against Boko Haram Islamist militants.

Shiite:

When reports by representatives of a Shiite Muslim sect in Kaduna revealed that hundreds of its members were killed by the military in a massacre, while also accusing the army of covering up the death toll, saying that soldiers had been taking the bodies of the dead to an “unknown destination.” The army on their part revealed that soldiers opened fire on Saturday after members of the sect threatened a convoy that was taking the army’s chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, on an official visit to an emir in the region.

PDP:

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP had always prided itself as being the largest political party in Africa and having ruled Nigeria for 16years, their influence in Africa’s most populous nation was greatly shaken when the All Progressives Congress, APC defeated them in the 2015 elections turning the PDP into the opposition, registers as one of the shocks of 2015.

Mr. poster, please learn when and where to use the words LOOSE & LOSE they're two completely different words. Just an observation, and I understand it's a common mistake people make.
