I really immensely sympathize the with the recent fire outbreak in the bethel females’ hostel ATBU yelwa campus, may Allah protect and bless the affected victims to bear the situation. – Muzzammil Aliyu Hadejia
Barely two days after the convocation ceremony of the famous Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, Bauchi, Fire has gutted the female hostel of the University located at Yelwa campus.
The incident occurred this evening around 9.25 pm is already causing serious pandemonium in the school and its environs.
Even though source of the fire outbreak could not be ascertain but eye witness attributed same to electrical faults.
During the incident female students were seen running in panic to escape being burnt while residents had to rush to the scene for rescue mission.
Sound of fire service vehicles were heard going towards the direction of the hostel in an attempt to put off the fire in combination of the efforts of other security agencies.
Several calls to the university spokesperson Zailani Bappa for confirmation was not successful as he didn’t answer his calls.
Though no report of loss of lives and properties has officially been given as at the time of filling this report. – M Salisu Kabiru Gus
On behalf of me and my family, I surely wish to sympathize with the female Balewites in Betel hostel of ATBU, Bauchi for the fire outbreak that occurred early hours of this night. I pray may Almighty ALLAH comes to their needs and wish them success in the ongoing examination. Further more, I wish to say my Big thanks to S.U.G caretaker committee for their struggle.

Fire guts one of the female’s hostel here in ATBU Bauchi, Yelwa campus. To this time the affected students are still hanging outside the hostel. Alhamdulillah no any deaths or injured report. Though many of the students properties were burnt nd others were stole by some in the process of helping them to stop the fire. – Siddiq M. Abdallah

OMG, shocking news indeed, fire at Atbu, Bauchi, girls hostel. I really sympathize the way i saw the situation, almost 15 rooms were bunt down. But Alhamdulillah because no one loss his life. But there are 5 fatal injuries, but I’m surprised by the action of some people because they didn’t fear God at all, they go there and took something that is not their own instead of helping the people. Too shameful and embarrising, no functional effecive fire service in ATBUto curtail fire when it started. The university authority should look into this as matter of urgency to avoid future occurency. it will be recall that at the begining of the semester, fire gutted the shops behind the female and now, some part of the female hostel has been raised down by fire. kudos to ATBU boys who vehemently tried in their possible ways and means to curtail the fire. the story would have been bad. thank to fire service from naighbouring school for there intervention. alhamdullillah, no life were lost but property were really destroyed. we hope urgent step would be taken avoid future re-occurrence and pray not to witness such disaster anymore in future. – Ismail Isa
