A tragic accident has occurred after the driver of the bus dozed off while behind the steering wheel. This tragic incident happened on 19th April 2015 at about 12pm.
According to reports gathered from the passengers, they were traveling to Lagos from Asaba. It was a smooth trip until when they got close to "Bypass" in Benin, the driver started waving the steering randomly from left to right.
At first, they thought he was trying to navigate the potholes on the road but it was pretty obvious that road at that point was good and there was no need for that.
Suddenly the driver began to move to the right almost out of the road, the man at the front noticed that the driver was sleeping, so he quickly reached out his hand for the steering trying to wave back into the road. He was not very successful because his seat belt held him back but he managed to wave it a little.
The bus hit the bump by the right and fell over. lots of the passengers were injured but none died. When the driver was confronted, he apologized and told them that he worked the previous night. He drove from Lagos to Asaba and was forced to take another trip without any good sleep.
