It says " Let's celebrate Chierika Ukogu. Who sponsored herself to the Olympics to represent Nigeria in a competition no Nigerian has ever taken part in.
She won a silver medal today,Nigeria's first !"
Chierika deserves to be given a National recognition for this.....She went, she saw and she put Nigeria on silver...who does that?Only a woman who loves her Country!
I have been reporting for several years now and I am very interested in visual news reportage with strong inclusion of photos and video multimedia.

Why do we go sentimental on issues? It's either tribal or religious! Yes she has performed a great feat; yes she has done what most of us who are on this platform don't and will never do-which is sacrifice for our country. When she went for the Olympics did she go as Igbo or Nigerian? What she has done has just opened us up to the fact that we are just being selfish. Would we have said all these things we are saying some ten or twenty years ago when we had the oil boom an money was just being siphoned and wasted? Now that it has dawned on us that we've wasted our resources we are now looking for scape goats to put our blame on. Let's not use sentiments to mar the glory this lady has achieved. Th government should and must honor her, because she has performed a tremendous feat.
