According to an eyewitness account, the suspect who lives in the room opposite Mrs. Aroba’s room had complained earlier that in the morning when the victim’s daughter was cleaning the compound, she did notweep the front of her room.
When they started to fight, neighbours intervened and tried to make peace between them. But Mrs. Peace Ogere allegedly went into her room and came out with a razor with which she inflicted deep cuts on Mrs. Aroba’s face and body.
The case was reported at the Sagamu Road Police Station, Ikorodu and the suspect was arrested and detained.
The victim, Mrs. Aroba, has been admitted at the Ikorodu General Hospital where she is still receiving treatment.
When our correspondent Mrs. Aroba, who was in great pains, She managed to utter a few words. She said that the razor attack caught her unawares as she had resolved not to fight again when elders in the compound intervened.
However, Mrs. Ogere did not deny committing the alleged crime.
She told P.M.NEWS that Mrs. Aroba was too arrogant and fond of fighting everybody in the compound, and that was why she decided to teach her a lesson.
When our correspondent visited the Sagamu Road Police Station, a police source confirmed the incident and added that Mrs. Ogere, a native of Agbo in Delta State, was in their custody and may soon soon arraigned in court after police investigation.
