Women and there evil heart. My advice for the man is to keep calm. But I strongly believe that the wife is helping paying some other fees. Like school fees for the children. The question he should ask his self is. Did she built the house before marrying him. Or did she inherited it from her parents.

If the story is true, the woman is a sadist and does not deserve a husband. I will run far away from her, file for divorce and ask court to reclaim all the rents I paid. They lived as husband and wife, they should share assets equally likewise debt.

The man is not lazy it's just that he is married to a selfish and self-centred woman. Imagine if she could be collecting a house rent from her husband for the house she build and she also lives in the same house, it's very clear that 70% or 80% of the man money is in the building of the house which she might have collected from the man without him knowing the real purpose for giving her the money. #ExceptSheBuildTheHouseBeforeMarryingTheMan.   Even if so, She is wicked and evil.
