A female school principal has gotten herself in more trouble than she can handle after she was found out to been involved with child traffickers.  A female principal (name withheld) has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command.

According to reporters, the woman was nabbed after she allegedly bought two stolen female babies from suspected child trafficking syndicate operating in the area. Findings revealed that security operatives in the area smashed the child trafficking syndicate that specialised in buying and selling of little babies in the state. The principal (name of school withheld) was apprehended in Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.

Addressing newsmen on the matter, the Desk Officer of the National Agency for Prohibition and Trafficking in Persons and other Related Offences in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Florence Onwa, said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off that the woman was in possession of two babies suspected to have been stolen.

Onwa said,
Quote
“After weeks of thorough investigations, a crack team of the agency in collaboration with operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, stormed Uburu where they arrested the school principal and recovered the stolen babies.
“We discovered that the suspect did not give birth to any of the babies, and where she hid the babies was not even in her late husband’s house, but rather in her sister’s house, where we arrested her and recovered the babies.”

Reacting to the development, the Director, Child Trafficking Department of the State Ministry of Women Development, Mr. Igwe Godwin, disclosed that the ministry had recovered over 10 children since September 2016.

Igwe called on parents to look after their wards to enable them to know their movements.

Quote
“There is need for young girls to look for source of living and forget about going after men for source of living,”
she cautioned.
