Odubajo played a huge role in Hull City’s promotion to the Premier League last season but injuries have prevented him from making an impact this term.
The right-back first suffered a knee injury in Hull City’s pre-season game at Grimsy Town FC in July.
As he tried to make a comeback after surgery, he suffered a fractured patella he sustained during training which ruled him out for several months.
Now back to action, the 23-year-old has been ignored by new manager Marco Silva, but the defender says he will be patient for his chance.
“I’ve just been unlucky,” he told Daily Mail.
“The first injury was a freak injury. It was two minutes into a pre-season game. Injuries will happen but it’s the way you bounce back from them.
“I think my time will come and if the lads can stay in the Premier League then that’ll help. If we go down, we go down.
“There’s always going to be chances for me to play in the Premier League if I keep my head down and work hard. I’ve got age on my side so I’m not panicking.
“I’m just staying positive which is all I can do at the moment. As the days go on I’m getting stronger.”
Odubajo is a Nigerian-born defender who was raised in England; he has represented England at U20 level
