The 38-year-old who won every major club honor at Stamford Bridge with the Blues enjoyed his first day of retirement as he and his family got together for the birthday of his wife.
Lampard who had also played for West Ham United and Manchester City posted an image of his wife and one of his daughters with the caption: 'The benefits of retirement! Times with my 3 girls. Happy birthday to my beautiful wife.'
''Im immensely proud of the trophies Ive won, of representing my country over 100 times and of scoring more than 300 career goals.
''I am forever grateful for the support of my family, my former teammates, my wife Christine and my two daughters Luna and Isla. What you have given me off the pitch has always been my strength on it. I love you all very much,'' Lampard explained.
