A police officer has come under fire after he allowed a group of women to twerk on his patrol car when they were denied entry to a nightclub. Chris Barber recorded the footage and posted it on Twitter on Saturday morning after witnessing the scene in Rochester, New York. The women had been told they would not be allowed to enter the Pearl nightclub as it neared closing time. One of them was wearing tracksuit bottoms, which violated the dress code of the bar. After being refused entry, the girls found the Rochester police officer and asked if they could dance by his car for a video.

Barber said: "He [The officer] said, 'I'm going to turn my back real quick,' which is kind of a way of saying not yes, but not saying no."

The girls were then filmed climbing on the bonnet of the car and twerking, while whooping and screaming for the cameras.

But after the video was posted on social media, the Rochester Police department said the incident was 'inappropriate'.

In a statement to ABC 13 , Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli said: "Although the RPD personnel did not intend for this occur, the result was an inappropriate and unacceptable image for the Rochester Police Department.
