A civil servant in Bayelsa state has been left fighting for his life after he was brutalized by men of the Nigerian Navy.  No fewer than 10 naval personnel, attached to the NNS Soroh, Gwegwe, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have battered and brutalised Mr Alexander Ebipadou, a civil servant with the state’s Board of Internal Revenue.
It was gathered that the naval officers were led by Seaman Adamu A.P., armed with daggers, horsewhips, planks, sticks, belts and other weapons, pounced on Ebipadou, popularly known as Biggie on Instagram, and allegedly beat him to a pulp, over an offence he (the victim) knew nothing about.

The sad incident took place on Friday, March 17, 2017, about 7.30pm on Customs Street, Biogbolo-Epie area of Yenagoa metropolis. Information gathered revealed that the victim, a 22-year-old Ebipadou, a Business Administration graduate from the North American University, Republic of Benin, had reportedly gone to buy a bottle of soft drink (Sprite) to enable him to take his malaria drug when the naval personnel accosted him and started giving him the beating of his life.

After the brutalisation, Ebipadou was left with a swollen face, red eyes and bruises on some part of his body. It was gathered that Seaman Adamu had a fight with an unnamed boy in the area before the incident.
They said that the Seaman, a former driver to a former Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Dick, had come back in the evening on a revenge mission in company with his colleagues for the humiliation he suffered earlier and resorted to beating any youth found in the area.
Eyewitnesses said Ebipadou was

”found in a wrong place at a wrong time,” noting
that when the fierce-looking naval operatives stormed the area in a zombie-like manner, they pounced on him (Ebipadou) and battered him until he was unconscious.
