All five previous teams winning 3-2 away from home in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie have progressed to the next round.

Monaco have won four of their last five home games against German opposition (D1), in all competitions. In fact, their only defeat on home soil versus a team from Germany was against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the UEFA Cup back in October 1996 (0-1).

Monaco can reach the semis of the Champions League for the fourth time after 1993/94, 1997/98 and 2003/04. No other French team has made the last four more than once.

Only Barcelona and Bayern Munich (4) have been awarded more penalties than Monaco (3) in this season’s Champions League. However, none of them have found the back of the net.
Borussia Dortmund have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the third time in the last five seasons.
