He was in the company of two activism leaders, Sanyaolu Juwon and Akinola Abiodun, and about 10 other protesters. University of Lagos student, Femi Adeyeye and three other activists were whisked away to an unknown location this morning for criticising the Lagos State government.

‘We are here to tell Governor Akinwunmi Ambode that there’s nothing like success story in Lagos,’ Adeyeye at said at Community Road, Allen, where he spoke with Newsroom.

He was in the company of two activism leaders, Sanyaolu Juwon and Akinola Abiodun, and about 10 other protesters. They faulted the state government over the demolition of Otodo Gbame community and Sabo market, arrest and alleged imprisonment of teenage hawkers, and others.

They also criticised the APC-led federal government over the falling standard of education and academic infrastructure despite rising tuition fees.

Adeyeye, Sanyaolu and Abiodun were arrested while moving the peaceful demonstration to Lagos State House of Assembly where the government is holding a special Lagos At 50 legislative session.

They were approached by young security operatives who pretended to be students. The operatives drove into Community Road in a vehicle which had the words ‘Aluta Bus’ printed on its body.

The real protesters thought the occupants of the bus were student activists. But they were given a shocker when strong young men alighted from the vehicle, grabbed Adeyeye and practically threw him in the bus.

They did the same thing happened to Abiodun and Sanyaolu.

The security operatives hugged and shook hands with the protesters, who were fooled by the ‘Aluta Bus’, before making the violent arrest.
