Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram has released a new video showing the abduction of police women in the wake of the brutal attack on a joint police/military convoy near Maiduguri earlier this month.
The video, released through journalist Ahmed Salkida, shows elusive Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau speaking for about 10 minutes, before scenes of the fierce ambush which took place on the Maiduguri-Damboa road.
Also contained in the 17 minute and 25 second clip are graphic contents of some of their terror victims as well as still images of the abducted women, who he said are fewer than 10, SR writes.
Holding a chewing stick (miswak) instead of a microphone, Shekau once again takes credit for the attack and berated the Nigerian Army for ‘lying’ that Boko Haram has been defeated.
“I want to tell you that we are the one that attacked the convoy, here are the vehicles for all to witness, we are the ones that abducted the female police officers, in fact, they are senior female police officers,” he says.
“What we did is nothing when compared to our women, children, and friends that have been wiped out or arrested for many years by the Nigerian government. We only abducted them to serve as slaves to us.”
He went further to issue a stern warning to moderate Islamic clerics, chiding the recent cooperation between Christians and Muslims as an aberration.
“No prophet has ever practiced this,” he says of their mutual assistance as human beings.
