Rev. Tor Uja, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has urged Nigerian pilgrims to reduce the use of Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) titles and let their pilgrimage show in their character. Uja said this when members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Chaplaincy paid him a courtesy visit on Friday in Abuja. He stated that anybody that go on pilgrimage should come back as a witness and serve as evangelists by testifying their life changing experience. “I want those ones who have gone on pilgrimage to come back and show and reflect what God has done in their lives through pilgrimage. “Those who went on pilgrimage should rise up and tell the people about their life changing experiences. The time has come when people should be struggling to abscond to Nigeria and not otherwise,’’ he said. He said that the commission would colaborate with the NSCDC chaplaincy to ensure that pilgrimage achieves a massive support and spiritual breakthrough for individuals and the Nation. The cleric urged NSCDC to be available to provide security and give orientations to pilgrims before they leave for the Holy Land. Uja commended NSCDC for the value they added to the growth and development of Nigeria and urged them to continue to pray for the country and the entire leadership. Commandant Taofik Shedeinde, NSCDC National Chaplain, said that the visit was to felicitate with the NCPC boss on his appointment and to commend him for the transformations in the commission since he assumed duty. Shedeinde said that the partnership between the commission and NSCDC would bring glory to the corps. “We are joyful and happy that a man of God has been appointed. We welcome you into your new office sir,’’ he said.
