Real Madrid are prepared to sell Gareth Bale, if they can recoup the €100 million they paid Tottenham for his services in 2013.

El Confidencial reports Madrid are considering selling Bale who joined them in a then-world record fee from Tottenham in 2013 and has been an influential figure during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Manager Zinedine Zidane is feeling he can’t count on Bale for a whole season due to his injury troubles.

Madrid president Florentino Perez may now be persuaded to cash in on Bale for the right price, with Manchester United holding a long-standing interest in the forward.

Also, Manchester City are ready to step in with a €400 million deal for Lionel Messi in January if he opts against signing his new contract at Barcelona, according to AS .

The Argentine is yet to commit to terms agreed at Camp Nou in July and could open the door to a move in the New Year rather than enter the free agent pool.
